Accessibility at Ampli2de
Because many of our clients are in the Public Sector, web accessibility means more to us than accessibility checklists and ratings. When it comes to accessibility, we focus on the following:
- Users with disabilities
- Users with increased photosensitivity
- Non-standard browsing configurations
W3C Web Accessibility Initiative
W3C WAI guidelines are widely regarded as the international standard for Web accessibility.
When we create web products, our designers consult all available
support materials to ensure a W3C WAI compliant implementation of web accessibility.
GoC CLF and Section 508
Apart from W3C WAI standards, our public sector implementations also take into consideration
Government UI and accessibility standards. Within the Canadian Federal Government, we ensure compliance to
Government of Canada's Common Look and Feel Guidelines (GoC CLF 1.0 and 2.0). Within the Canadian Provincial Government, we focus on applicable guidelines such as OAI (Ontarians with Disabilities Initiative) and the Government of Ontario Information Technology Standards(GO-ITS). Within the United States, we ensure compliance to Section 508: Americans with Disabilities Act which is required both in the Federal Government, as well as the State Governments.
