The Challenge
Bivium Consulting Inc., an Ottawa based management consulting company, was looking to create an engaging web presence in a market segment typically dominated by minimalistic websites reflecting the typical demographics of the industry. The end result was an experience that incorporates Bivium unique dynamic market perspective and the company's emphasis on cross-channel engagement.
Ampli2de worked closely with Bivium subject matter experts to identify quality user experience design differentiators from an information architecture, visual design and social media perspective. We also proposed the use of open source technologies and made recommendations regarding cost-effective website hosting solutions.
The Solution
During the course of the 6 month project, we worked closely with the client to validate end user requirements, conceptualize the navigational model, finalize the future site map and create the information architecture documentation and product mockups. We also conducted visual design demos to project stakeholders and advised Bivium's senior management team on matters of usability, user experience and cross-channel strategy.
In the end, the Ampli2de team developed the website prototype and a set of web publishing standards for both the website and its accompanying social media presence. The ensuing web design stream was based on xHTML 1.0 Strict, CSS2 and JavaScript, while the final web site development was performed on an open source PHP/MySQL platform.
Final Product
The final Bivium Consulting website (http://biviumconsulting.com) is the realization of the user experience design cycle.
As part of the project, Bivium Consulting's engagement channels were boosted by the introduction of a professional blog platform (http://biviumconsulting.com/blog).
The company's preferred social media channels created as part of this web experience redesign include establishing a Twitter presence (follow @bivcons on Twitter) and using LinkedIn for cross promotion.
