Wired Magazine has recently posted an article about a new high-tech defense perimeter around Manhattan in order to protect it (and by it they mean the Financial District) from future terrorist attacks. Unfortunately, the article is simply a cheerleading story about further infringement of privacy disguised as a piece of high-tech news. What does it take for people to get annoyed with these initiatives?

The Financial District already looks like a scene from Gattaca with armed cops, bomb-sniffing dogs and security personnel around every corner. This latest 'defense perimeter' is taking things a bit too far.
